What does it take for you to live a healthy life? A rhetorical question asked by many, most of us perceive that only the overweight and those with big fat bellies are meant to do something for them to appear healthy and fit.
You could be working out on daily basis and your body is physically fit but you are psychologically unfit without even realizing it. Bingo! It’s time that we check our emotional, psychological and social wellbeing and how it affects our thoughts, feelings and behavior.
Mental Wellbeing
Did you know that mental and substance use disorders are the leading cause of disability worldwide?
According to the World Health Organization fact files; about 23% of all years loss and disabilities are caused by mental and substance use disorders. Over 800000 people die due to suicide cases every year. its the second leading reason for death of people aged 15-29 years.
When you are mentally unfit your thoughts, mood and actions could be affected.
The factors that contribute to mental health problems are :
• Biological due to genetic reasons
• Life experiences caused by childhood trauma or incidents
• Family history(hereditary)
We seldom suffer from mental or emotional health problems in our lives. This has been a core problem especially during the Corona Virus Pandemic. Because life itself is challenging, we just need to watch ourselves in the way we handle stress during these periods. Mastering the art of resilience and by taking it just like a passing cloud, not being so hard on yourself for you are not alone. We all go through some sort of obstacles in this life in one way or another.

By developing feelings of Contentment
Develop a positive mindset that you deserve what life has offered you at the moment and be grateful for what you already have. Take courage and believe that whatever you desire you can achieve it and trust that it will manifest in your life.

Who doesn’t want to live long so that you cannot only witness the upcoming young generation and new inventions, but also enjoy good music and travel the world? There are many reasons as to why we would want to live longer looking from the good perspective. Positive thinking is a flying ticket for living a healthy mentally fit lifestyle.
Balance
Set up solid principles and values that govern your sense of direction, just like an alarm reminding you when you are doing too much work than enjoying to play or vice versa.
Discipline, determination, consistency and commitment are the keys to maintaining a balanced healthy mental lifestyle.
